Elementary Faith Formation

Our Kindergarten through Fifth Grade Faith Formation program is deeply rooted in Church Tradition. The four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church - Creed, Sacraments, Morality, and Prayer - are taught and developed on every grade level each year. This ensures that the beliefs of our faith are introduced to and reinforced for our children as they grow, develop, and mature in their faith. Our goal is to teach our Catholic faith and touch the hearts of our children enabling them to share the "Good News" of Jesus with everyone they meet. Our classes meet on Mondays at 5:00pm and Tuesdays at 4:45pm and 6:30pm.

For more information on Elementary Faith Formation, please call the Faith Formation Office at 281-463-7356, ext. 339. or ask for Norilda Reed . For more information on the books we will be using for elementary and home elementary classes go to www.faithfirst.com .

Sacramental Preparation

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton welcomes all young people to prepare for and celebrate the Sacraments. Children preparing for First Penance and First Eucharist are asked to meet the following requirements:

•  Students should be enrolled in a First Grade CCE program or attending Catholic school to be eligible to receive the Sacraments of Penance and Eucharist in second grade. This requirement is in place so that the children will have an age appropriate knowledge of their faith and of Jesus before learning about the sacraments.

•  Students prepare for the Sacrament of Penance in the fall and the Sacrament of Eucharist in the spring. Students are to celebrate the Sacrament of Penance before they celebrate their First Eucharist and ideally within the same year.

•  The U.S. Bishops have recommended that the parent's serve as their child's primary teachers when preparing for the Sacraments (National Catechetical Directory #119). As a Church, we recognize that it is within the family that our Catholic faith is handed down to the next generation. At St. Elizabeth's, we begin preparing the students in the Catholic school or the CCE classroom and the process is completed in the home.

For more information on Sacramental Preparation, please call the Faith Formation Office at 281-463-7356, ext. 339. or ask for Norilda Reed .
