Cathecumenate & Spanish Elementary

This program is offered to children first through fifth grade. Classes will be taught in Spanish using the series textbooks ¨Christ, Jesus the Way¨

The content of Christ Jesus the way has two sources, the Holy Scriptures and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The lessons are design to teach Scriptures and the Catechism. Each week the student brings home a review of the lesson and a family page. Christ Jesus the way recognizes the fundamental role that parents and family play in children's faith development. The textbooks also helps parents and families grow and mature in their faith and to share their faith with each other.

The program offers many opportunities to help families share their faith and acquire a deep love and appreciation for our loving God.

In each grade level children will learn to celebrate the sacred mysteries, pray the liturgy, learn about the lives of the saints, and participate in the Eucharist.The people that follow Jesus try wholeheartedly and with all their strength to live a Christ centered life. This program teaches that faith should influence our every action and thought.

Discovering God's World - Age 3

Children must be 3 years old by September 1, 2005 and completely potty trained to enroll.

The discovering God program seeks to introduce the preschool child to the Catholic community's life of faith. It presents the faith in a language that the young child can understand. Presenting human life as a gift of God, the program engages the child senses in incremental experiences of God, the gift of the Son, the gifts of family, catholic community, scripture, sacraments, and prayer.

Discovering God's World - Age 4

Children must be 4 years old by September 1, 2005 to enroll. This program is also for five-year-old children who are not in a kindergarten program in school.

The discovering God program is continued from Pre K-3. The lessons are based on a central faith- development theme. Each week students bring home a Parenting page; it provides important background to the theme of the lesson and to the developmental issues of the child.

 

Discovering God's World - Kindergarten

The discovering God program is continued from Pre K- 4. Through simple prayer activities, the introduction of Scripture, sacramental rituals and other Catholic practices, the program continues the instruction of the young child in the catholic faith. Each week students bring home a Parenting page; it provides important background to the theme of the lesson and to the developmental issues of the child.
